This section intends to give a brief understanding of the guiding structural principles behind my product designs. To start off, a lesson in 3 Dimensional geometry.....

Tetrahedron Cube Icosahedron

Each is made from regular equal side planes of Triangles, Squares or Pentagons.

Octahedron Dodecahedron
Many of my designs use the ICOSAHEDRON and the DODECAHEDRON. These are considered to be duals of each other, as you can see from the animation. The ICOSAHEDRON has 12 vertices and 20 faces and the DODECAHEDRON has 20 vertices and 12 faces.
The ICOSIDODECAHEDRON semi-regular solid is like a combination of the ICOSAHEDRON and the DODECAHEDRON. It has 10 pentagons, and 20 triangles all with equal side lengths. Note how the edges line up into continuous 'bands' that run around the shape. There are six of these bands. This shape forms the basis of some of my lampshade designs. SWIRLA and TEMPRA both are made from strips that align to these 'bands' with fixings at the intersections. Icosadodechedron
The ICOSAHEDRON and DODECAHEDRON have many interesting properties, some of which are explored on the next pages. Next
